Life Lessons continues to grow and expand around metro Atlanta and in other cities around the country. The growing Leadership Community is an inspiring group of people to work with. It's always great to meet new Leaders and hear how God is raising them up to make an impact within their companies and their communities. I continue to be amazed at the extraordinary caliber of leadership among this community of leaders. The Leadership Community certainly carries much influence and there is a clear mentality of stewardship connected to this influence.
Leverage Your Influence is a Leader Essential for Life Lessons Leaders. 1 Peter 3:15 says that we should be prepared to give an answer when someone asks the reason for the hope we have but to do so with gentleness and respect. Our influence in the marketplace is first built upon our character in the marketplace. To leverage this influence for Christ is to position ourselves as advocates for those that we work with each week. Creating a environment wherein we simply invite people to hear relevant teaching rather than trying to teach and preach ourselves is a big step. We all know that the environment is less threatening to outsiders than a bible study.
Life Lessons leaders certainly have influence beyond the Life Lessons environment itself. Sometimes, healthy tension emerges as we seek to help people take next steps with their lives from a Life Lessons environment or perhaps some other connection that we have with people. At North Point, we feel that a great next step is to simply invite people to church. A couple of other points to consider are:
- Give them a Bible - We are excited about the new bible just published through the Ministry at North Point. It's simply called the Bible. You can purchase a Starting Point Bible online for ten dollars through the North Point Store. This would be a great step to take with someone in your Life Lessons group that you feel is responsive to your influence and the Life Lessons messages.
- Intentional Relationship Building - Inviting a co-worker and their spouse to dinner with you and your spouse could be a great next step. There are certainly other social outlets to consider in thinking of ways to be intentional with co-workers. For married Leaders, inviting co-workers and their spouses to attend Married Life Live at North Point could be a good step. For singles, the 7/22 Environment is a great environment to bring coworkers and friends to.
Those are some thoughts on Leveraging Your Influence but make no mistake, creating a Over Lunch environment in and of itself is an awesome way to Leverage Your Influence. Thanks for your leadership!
